5.00 Alicja-Pop
I Play The Fool/Water Death (Certified PR) Maybe some of you were disappointed with the Alicja-Pop debut, not expecting the lilting pop of that record. Fear not, this is much more rockin’. No Lost Sounds type screams, but completely brilliant nonetheless. I Play The Fool.

2.00 Alicja-Pop
Shining Apple/Walking The Cow (Certified PR) Don’t look for the fierce Alicja here. A-side is atmospheric synth-pop perhaps somewhat similar to Mazzy Star or Lush. B-side is keyboard driven again, but this time more upbeat pop on this Daniel Johnston cover (I’ve never heard the original, but I can’t imagine it’s anywhere near as good as this). This woman can do no wrong. Numbered edition of 400 copies.

1.00 Blowtops
Mad Monk Medication + 2 (Big Neck) Recorded by Jay & Alicja in ‘02. Merciless noise punk from Buffalo.

7.00 BOB
The Things That You Do/Thomas Edison (Rerun) Reissue of a classic 1980 San Francisco punk 7’! Of course in 1980 it was punk, but now their weirdo electonic Devo/Screamers off-kilter sounds would probabably be called Art-Wave or something. Whatever though, it’s killer stuff and this is an amazing reissue. Super-nice sleeve with a double sided fold-over insert with interview and history. Stamped inner sleeve numbered edition of 500. It’s the return of Rerun Records. Back in the 90’s they put out The Wongs, Last Sons of Krypton, Boris The Sprinkler and others. They are also partly responsible for the amazing Welders single.

Don't Tell Me, I Know/I Don't Know Why (Ditchwater) PunknRoll from Houston, TX. The b-side is a most gritty version of a Stevie Wonder song-sadly it‘s not “Boogie On Reggae Woman” First release for this label-cool b&w sleeve, numbered edition of 300, insert.

1.00 Brothers Gross
Introducing The Brothers Gross (Silly Girl) Indiana pop fiends. Any relation to former Houston Astros' rookie of the year Greg Gross is at this point pure conjecture.

Kender Mig... + 3 (Hjernespind) Their debut from 7‘ from 2007. Killer band from Denmark!

5.00 Complaints*
*No Action (Modern Action) Single #4 from the Complaints* and it's another killer! S.F. garage PunknRoll. This is a 6-song, 33 rpm 7”. No Action is not a Elvis Costello cover, but Cranked Up Really High is Slaughter & The Dogs. On Modern Action, so you know it will be gone sooner than later...

5.00 Crisis Hotlines
A.R.T.I.F.I.C.I.A.L. + 3 (Ken Rock) Sweden Nothing against today’s noise merchants, but I love it when I hear a band that I can’t label as anything other than Punk Rock. Following a long tradition of great Austin bands come the debut from Crisis Hotline. High Energy, Fast, Melodic, & Mean.

4.50 Crisis Hotlines
Dont’ Wanna Go To No Jail (Eradicator) These Texans are one of the best straight up punk bands out there today. 4-songs, super-nice full-color sleeve. Monsterous!

4.00 Dagger Dicks
Sharp For You/Razor Sharp Love (Meaty Beaty) I couldn’t find a myspace page for them, but for some strange reason they sound almost exactly like The Gaggers, Botox Rats, Shanghai Wires, & Disco Lepers-only with a slight bit of powerpop injected. I do mean slight. Killer Snotty Punk Rock! Lime green vinyl with insert in a very cool jacket style sleeve.

2.00 Daily Void
Civilization Dust (Before Death)/Civilization Dust (After Death) (Ken Rock) Sweden Civilization Dust is a pretty apt title for that band that absolutely destroys!

4.00 Dead Ringers
It sounds loud and fast to me, it must be Dead Ringers (Gimme Danger) Four songs of Stitches-esque snot-punk, perhaps a notch or two faster. Blue vinyl in jacket style sleeve.

2.00 Derek Lyn Plastic
Wombat Juice ep (NMG) Another typically great 4-songer from DLP! White vinyl.

2.00 Derek Lyn Plastic
Life And Death (Certified PR) It seems like it’s been a long time since we’ve heard from Mr. Plastic and this is certainly worth the wait. 300 copies only.

1.00 Die Wasted
Wasteland Fugitives/Into The Tavern + My Last Drink (Die Wasted) From the band name to the song titles, it’s not too tough to figure out what these guys are into. This looks like a metal/core crossover single from the 80’s. There's a little lead guitar, but not much. Punky hardcore Probably closer to bands like Fang.

5.00 Digital Leather
Power Surge/Shattered Reflections (FDH) Very cool mid-eighties UK sound on this one.

5.50 Druid Perfume
Don’t Eat ‘em They’re Poison/Honk Your Horn (X!) Remember the Piranhas from Detroit. They were basically the band that started the whole take inspiration from the Electric Eels and those type of bands and take it to the next level of garage noise destruction. Long forgotten pioneers-They’re to blame! Or celebrate depending on your point of view. Anyway, two of them are back here and no, you’re not getting any pop songs. A full body assault! Unusual, yet pretty cool sleeve art.

1.00 Drunks
Speed Metal Blues (Cutthroat) Death Dealer b/w Heavy Metal Cocaine Blues. I‘m not exactly up on my speed metal, but I‘m sure this ain‘t it. These guys are more in league with early Nashville P, EF, or some late-nineties Swedish bands. There is some lead guitar noodling though. 500 #ed copies.

1.00 Electric Bunnies
Fantastic Metal Eye/Beautiful Pants + 1 (Columbus Discount) Single we missed from last year.

3.00 Entropy
Gross National Product (Bad Idea) These guys were around in the 80’s and I ignored them because, from their name, I assumed they were metal. This is socal Hostage style punk with a bit more proficient playing than most. This looks just like a Hostage release which isn’t surprising, as it’s the first record on Julia Smut’s new label (Smut Peddlers, Hostage, Razorcake). Don’t let the man keep you digital!

1.00 Estrogen Highs
